Tom Hashemi, director of the communications consultancy We are Flint, will present their latest research exploring the UK public’s attitudes towards policy influencing organisations, including think tanks. It will cover fears of political extremism, perceptions of accountability (or lack thereof), and suggestions of ways think tanks can navigate the new world we find ourselves in.

As a teenager Tom Hashemi took extremist websites offline… before turning his fingers to more constructive habits. Today, Tom’s expertise lies in helping experts communicate more effectively.

Formerly at Edelman, Reputation Leaders, and Black Swan, Tom’s clients include Unilever, PayPal, Toyota, Norton Symantec, Labour, the Stimson Center, Biomass UK, the Nuclear Security Working Group, the Texas National Security Review, and War on the Rocks.

Tom holds a BA(Hons) in Middle Eastern Politics and an MA in Terrorism, Security & Society from the War Studies Department, King’s College London. He is currently studying introductory epistemology.
