After 6 months The Exchange is meeting again, this time in Quito: #OTTE2015.
The first day of the meeting was focused on catching up with each project and setting out the objectives for the week:

The Communications Group
The communications groups includes participants from Peru, Indonesia, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary. It has been working on comparative case studies of their think tanks’ communications strategies. Over the last 6 months it has worked on clarifying concepts, understanding each other’s organisations, identifying aspects of their communications work worth looking into (and of interest to others) and working on the cases themselves. These preliminary outputs will be shared by the end of the Quito Meeting.

The PSATT Team
The PSATT (Performance Self-Assessment of Think Tanks) team is made up of participants from Argentina, Ecuador, Georgia and Brazil. It has been working on a survey to be carryout out in each think tank. The survey covers 4 dimensions of organisational performance – Strategic Direction, The Board, Knowledge Management and Quality Control.

The Business Models team
Finally, the Business model team presented their progress and objectives. This team is made up of participants from Argentina and Indonesia. This projects started after the other two so has had to ‘catch-up’. It had to explore the concept of business models in the context of think tanks and focus (or narrow) on a series of dimensions to study. They have focused on think tanks from Ecuador, Bolivia and Paraguay (for Latin America) and Indonesia. The Indonesian research has been completed and work on Latin American think tanks is underway.
