The Energy for Growth Hub is a nonprofit organization, incubated at the Center for Global Development, now in its second year. Our mission is to build a world where no person’s potential or creativity is wasted because they live in a place with inadequate power. Our work is to (a) match policymakers to data- and evidence-based solutions and (b) promote energy approaches that enable job creation.
The role
Program Coordinator to support our work in international energy and development policy. The successful candidate will have strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills plus a passion for energy policy.
The roles and responsibilities
- Providing administrative support for the Hub, including managing logistics, contacts, databases, and projects
- Managing and developing content for official social media accounts
- Contributing to the content and maintenance of the Hub website
- Researching global energy issues and policies
- Reviewing and synthesizing relevant policy and academic literature
- Analyzing data and creating graphics
- Drafting written contributions to papers, blogs, memos, and grant reports
- Editing papers, briefs, and memos
- Liaising with external partners around the US and abroad
- Organizing and attending meetings
- Other tasks and responsibilities that arise for a small start-up nonprofit
Experience and skills
- BA or Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Self-confidence and willingness to pitch in
- Ability to work both in a small dynamic team and independently
- A demonstrated passion for energy and global development
- Strong organizational and communications skills
- Stellar writing and editing skills; must be able to communicate academic research clearly, thoughtfully, and without jargon
- Entrepreneurial spirit and a sense of humor

Location: Washington DC, but open to the option of remote working
Start date: flexible; will consider exceptional applicants graduating in Spring 2020
