Capita is an independent, nonpartisan think tank with a global focus. We explore how the great cultural and social transformations of our day affect our youngest children (0-8 years old). Our purpose is to build a future in which all children and families flourish. We seek to strengthen the social fabric of our societies for the long-term.
Duties:
We are seeking someone who can run our day-to-day communications and help to craft our communications and engagement strategy.
- Project manage digital communications and engagement campaigns and projects.
- Coordinate the development of communications products and activities for Capita’s target audiences, focusing on getting the right knowledge, ideas and solutions to our audiences.
- Deliver timely communications in a variety of formats (text and multimedia) and via multiple channels (website, social media, direct mail, events, etc.).
- Carry out day-to-day management of the website and social media channels, working closely with developers and external contractors as needed.
- Support internal and external events, including round tables, briefings and webinars.
- Lead all aspects of the development of our newsletters and mailing lists.
Requirements:
The right candidate is someone who enjoys working for a fast-paced think tank that values creativity, who can work independently as well as part of a globally distributed team, and is confident to bring forth bold ideas for improving our existing communications.
- Has excellent communications skills, with fluency in both oral and written English. Other languages, such as Spanish, are desirable.
- A minimum of three years of progressively relevant professional work experience in a communications role. – Experience working in think tank, policy or research communications is desirable.
- Strong organizational and project management skills and meticulous attention to detail. This includes an ability to coordinate a variety of communication campaigns and projects.
- Excellent knowledge of a range of digital platforms as well as social media and web content best practice. – Experience running editorial, design, and content processes.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deliverables.
- Experience of using Mailchimp or other email marketing tools.
- Experience working with external contractors and partners.
- Confirmed dedication to justice, diversity, and equity, and a willingness to contribute to an inclusive work environment and society.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to issues impacting young children and their families, especially people of color.
- Self-starter who thrives with working remotely for a global organization.
- Excellent teammate, comfortable with working closely with others based in different countries and settings.
