Senior Writing Fellow

The Center for Peace Communications is looking for a skilled writer of English with extensive knowledge of the Middle East to prepare materials for public and private distribution. They are open to both part-time and full-time employment.

About the organisation

The Center for Peace Communications works through media, schools, and centers of spiritual and moral leadership in the Middle East and North Africa to roll back divisive ideologies and foster a mindset of inclusion and engagement.

Key roles and responsibilities 

The position calls for generating social media posts and short newsletter entries, opinion articles, and longer form writing for publication, as well as correspondence on behalf of the organisation, project proposals, and internal memoranda.

Experience and skills

  • Native English writing fluency, with proven ability to write compellingly for both general and specialized audiences.
  • Background in Middle Eastern studies, with deep knowledge of policy discussions and polemics related to the region.
  • Proficiency in Arabic, though not a prerequisite, is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrable research skills.
  • A team player, comfortable adjusting style of communication to navigate an array of political and cultural sensitivities, as well as accepting feedback over successive drafts.
