Center for Northeast Asian Studies

CNEAS
Miyagi, Japan

CNEAS was established for the purpose of promoting regional studies of Northeast Asia and Japan. There are some main aspects to CNEAS's mission: creating new methodologies in regional studies by developing research methods that integrate cultural and scientific aspects through a combination of studies covering humanities and natural science; promoting academic studies to clarify regional and individual circumstances and conditions as race, history, society, culture, language, natural history, resources, the environment and to determine relationships between these factors; and creating a database to hold the results of research that are useful both now and in the future.
