The role

We are looking for a Development Officer.

Planning and organising a programme of private fundraising events that compliments the work of the CPS and boosts the profile of the think tank and its sister website CapX
Working closely with the COO to identify and pursue potential funding leads
Providing briefings to the COO, Head of External Relations, Head of Policy and Director ahead of meetings and events
Identifying funding opportunities and preparing funding applications
Managing the CRM database
Managing the giving pipeline
Liaising with external stakeholders to ensure every aspect of each private event is delivered to standard
Carrying out other duties as and when required in order to contribute to the efficient running of the CPS

Experience of liaising with HNWI and UHNWIs
Experience of successfully soliciting donations – either by yourself or as part of a wider team
Events experience, including organising small events of c.10 up to large-scale events of c.500
Highly organised
Strong attention to detail
Experience of preparing successful funding applications
Demonstrable experience of relationship management
Ability to prioritise own workload and work to deadlines
Able to confidently lead a small team when managing events
Excellent written and oral communication skills
An interest in and knowledge of UK politics and current affairs
Experience using a CRM database (ideally Capsule) and Mailchimp
Understanding of think tanks and their role in UK politics
Demonstrable understanding of and sympathy towards the aims and values of the Centre for Policy Studies
An undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as politics, economics or business
