Fajri Siregar

Fajri is a Sociology lecturer at the University of Indonesia with expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methods. He led OTT’s primary research for the Knowledge Translation in the Global South project in collaboration with IDS (2022) and was part of OTT’s Luminate consultation team, analysing Luminate’s strategy in Southeast Asia. He also served as a consultant to DFAT for the Knowledge Sector Initiative, delivering reviews and research reports on mechanisms to improve Indonesia’s knowledge ecosystem and evidence based policy making (2015–2020).

As Director of CIPG (2016–2018), he built strong partnerships with international organisations such as the British Council, ODI, DFAT, On Think Tanks, and IDS. He has also worked as a research and policy consultant for institutions including Indonesia’s Ministry of Research and Higher Education, the Knowledge Sector Initiative, and the Partnership for Governance Reform.

He is currently pursuing a PhD in Anthropology at the University of Amsterdam, focusing on civil society-based knowledge production by NGOs in post-Suharto Indonesia. His involvement with Indonesia’s civil society spans more than 15 years through diverse collaborations and engagements.
