The Hokuriku Economic Research Institute was established in March 1988 with the permission of the Minister of International Trade and Industry (current Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry) with the aim of conducting the required research and research projects and guidance projects for corporate management in order to contribute to the promotion of industry and the development of local communities in the three Hokuriku prefectures of Toyama, Ishikawa, and Fukui.
