IFANS, also known as the Korean National Diplomatic Academy, is Korea’s oldest foreign policy think tank, tracing its beginnings to 1965, when it was first established as the Research Institute of Foreign Affairs (RIFA). It is affiliated with Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. IFANS conducts analysis of foreign policy and national security challenges, generates policy solutions, provides policy advice and recommendations, and interacts with think tanks around the world.
