Fondation pour la Protection de la Biodiversite Marine (FoProBiM)

Founded in 1992, FoProBiM is an apolitical, non-governmental, non-profit organisation based in Haiti. It received official recognition from the Haitian government in 1995 as a foundation focused on environmental issues. FoProBiM works in the areas of sustainable development, education, research, monitoring, and advocacy. As one of Haiti's oldest environmental organisations, FoProBiM's mission encompasses three key objectives: (i) raising awareness about necessary changes in regulations and attitudes, (ii) enhancing knowledge and capabilities at the government, community, and individual levels to achieve sustainable improvements in the environment and people's lives, and (iii) conducting educational programmes and scientific research, including environmental monitoring.
