ECODES (Ecology and Development) is an entity independent nonprofit that promotes integrated development projects in Spain and Latin America that are ecologically sustainable, socially just and economically viable. ECODES works to strengthen dialogue and collaboration with all stakeholders in the implementation of actions and programs that promote sustainable development and enable social change. It provides ideas and solutions as well as critical commentary based on professional expertise. The organization's main areas of focus are social responsibility, climate change resulting from global warming, water management, reducing consumption and development cooperation. ECODES is aware that tackling climate change is a collective challenge that requires immediate action leading to a model of low-carbon development. Therefore, with the objective of reducing the climate impact of human activities, ECODES has been working in the field of climate change driving immediate action, thinking beyond the Kyoto agreements, promoting shared responsibility, calculating the emissions of greenhouse gases, offsetting emissions (through projects in Latin America) and networking with other organizations and entities, mobilizing a constantly growing number of actors who share the will to drive change.
