Alternative Institute is a research centre (think tank) that focuses on governance, transparency and accountability. Its mission is to contribute to strengthening of democracy and good governance through research and policy analysis as well as monitoring of public institutions performance. Its objectives are to increase the quality of work, accountability, transparency and efficiency of public institutions and public officials; to encourage public and well-argument discussions on important policy issues; to raise public awareness on important policy issues and strengthen the capacities of all sectors for the development of public policies. Its research and advocacy activities are focused on Public Administration, Public Financial Management, Rule of Law and Anticorruption.
