The IGE has two primary objectives: (1) to provide forums for global thinkers and leaders from academia, government, politics, business, and journalism to discuss major global issues and their implications for the world and Korea in particular; and (2) to carry out research regarding major global economic and security issues to help frame government policies and business strategies. The IGE's research activities are primarily carried out by visiting fellows drawn from the Korean academic and research community. The institute often undertakes collaborative research and co-sponsors seminars and conferences with other research institutes, both domestic and foreign.
