The Institute of International Relations (IDIS) which is affiliated with Panteion University, was founded by a group of international relations scholars under the leadership of Director Dimitri Constas. Its objective is to advance understanding of world issues in the areas of international politics, security, business and economics, especially in the areas of the Balkans and South-eastern Europe. Specifically, the institute seeks to generate new ideas and perspectives in its areas of competence through ongoing research programs, training activities, seminars, conferences and relevant publications. It seeks to contribute constructively on the dialogue regarding Greek foreign policy and security considerations in Europe, the Balkans and the Middle East. Finally, IIR aims to foster the development of relevant networks among academics, international relations specialists, policy makers, members of the media and students.
