The James Martin Institute for Public Policy (JMI) is a joint venture between the government and leading Australian universities that was launched in 2021. It is an independent and non-partisan policy institute with charitable status. It aims to ensure that the government can effectively harness expertise and evidence for the public good. Its research areas include the new economy, the future of work and education, environmental sustainability and climate transition, the strength of Australia's regions, and community health and well-being.
