Observatory of Women's Political Participation

The Observatory for the Political Participation of Women, “We in Politics” is an initiative of the United Nations System in Costa Rica and the Center for Research in Women's Studies of the University of Costa Rica (CIEM-UCR) with the support from the Embassy of the Netherlands and the United Nations Development Program. The Observatory then seeks to be an instrument to monitor the sexism, exclusionary practices and political violence that women experience in electoral processes, as well as to promote the creation of a feminist agenda on women's rights throughout the electoral process, in the light of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development promoted by the United Nations.
