The Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research is the centre of excellence for climate research of the University of Bern. It focuses on interdisciplinary research in the fields of natural, human and social sciences as well as economics and law. The Oeschger Centre takes advantage of its international network to explore the Earth's climate and the Earth system. It has become increasingly obvious that man-made climate change is a global problem with varied local consequences. For this very reason, the centre also endeavours to investigate the regional impacts of climate change in Switzerland and thus helps develop measures and adaptation strategies to counter the climatic challenges They are facing today and in the years ahead.
