The Kanindé Ethno-Environmental Defense Association is a Non-Profit Civil Society Organization of Public Interest, founded on November 15, 1992, by a group of people working with the Uru-eu-wau-wau indigenous people and in defense of the environment in Rondônia. Among the main activities carried out since its inception are the vigilance and inspection actions of the Uru-eu-wau-wau Indigenous Land and the Pacaás Novos National Park, assistance to indigenous organizations, environmental impact assessment, diagnosis participatory ethno-environmental assessment on indigenous lands, rapid ecological assessment, ethnozoneamento, indigenous land management plan, environmental education, carbon project development, project design, and public policy monitoring.
