The founding principle and intent behind the establishment of the Centre for Policy Research Africa (CPRA) are that it operates as a think tank and cutting-edge research institute. It aims to address key social and economic development policy issues relating to key segments of the African population. For this purpose, it provides research insights that can translate into investable ideas for the private sector, government and NGOs. CPRA intends that its research and ideas will equip these actors to create sustained escapes for youth and women from poverty, inequality and unemployment. Its business-led approach aims to provide economic freedom, grow businesses and provide opportunities for the most at-risk and vulnerable groups in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
