Polski Instytut Spraw Międzynarodowych

PISM's mission is to serve the bodies of national authority, as well as Polish society, through participation in the foreign policy-making process, deepening and broadening knowledge of international affairs. The tasks of the institute include (1) scientific research in the areas of international affairs; (2) the preparation of analyses, expert reports, and forecast studies; (3) the professional advancement of those working in the area of international affairs and foreign policy for the Republic of Poland; (4) the dissemination in Polish society of knowledge in the area of contemporary international affairs; (5) maintaining contact with academic, scientific, and political centers in Poland and abroad; (6) the collection of specialist publications and scientific documentation as well as maintaining open-access library activities; and (7) a range of publishing activities.
